Banjoko Wildlife Preserve Facing Eviction by City of Page

The City of Page is requiring Voices of the Wild Foundation Inc. (VOW) to provide a $100K Bond to protect the city in case the animals at Banjoko Wildlife Preserve are abandoned and to restore the leased property to its original condition.

In order to establish a Bond any Surety Company requires that a Bond Form be provided by the Obligee. In this case, the City of Page is the Obligee. The City of Page has neglected to provide the Bond Form that is required of them as Obligee.

Voices of the Wild Foundation which represents Banjoko Wildlife Preserve has been attempting to secure the Bond Form from the City of Page. The City of Page has maintained that they do not have a Bond Form. Now the City of Page is attempting to evict Banjoko Wildlife Preserve from the property because it has been unable to secure the Bond. This eviction would cause the animals at Banjoko Wildlife Preserve to lose their homes. Banjoko currently houses giraffes, exotic birds, camels, and reptiles.

PLEASE HELP US BY EMAILING THE CITY OF PAGE AND VOICING YOUR CONCERNS ABOUT THIS WRONGFUL EVICTION!

  1. How could Page send the animals at Banjoko packing? Are they realizing what kind of value they bring to the town? I was planning a trip to Page this year - not so much for Lake Powell - but to bring my family to see the wildlife animals at Banjoko. It's been widely publicized that they were originally from Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch - those animals are CELERITIES IN THEIR OWN RIGHT! I can't believe that Page can't work out something with them!!!

  2. hi, i wrote to everyone on your craigslist post. i received a reply fromscouse@thedam.com as follows "All the reserve has to do is comply with the terms of the lease. As we speak they are in default and their future is in the hands of the court"

  3. scouse@thedam.com has been sending this generic email to everyone it seems (per my feedback from other concerned bloggers). This is absolutely not true. The reserve has complied with the terms of the lease - it's the City of Page that is not complying with their own City Council decisions!
